| Question about Meal Time Brutus is eating 3 meals a day 7:00 am, 1:30 pm, and 7:00 pm. At what age is it safe/healthy to go down to 2 times a day?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think around 6-8 months or 4 pounds. How old is Brutus, and how much does he weigh?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | People feed three times a day for several reasons, when they are smaller the more frequent meals help prevent hypoglycemia or low blood sugar, but once they are over 4 pounds, they are not as much of a risk for that. Another reason people free feed or feed three times a day is because the dog has chronic pancreatitis, and the more frequent feedings help prevent indigestion. Brutus is at the age he can go on adult food and have only 2 feedings a day, if that's what you prefer.
