| Itchy ears Could you recommend anything please to sooth itchy ears? He doesn't have an infection, vet has checked, but does have extremely narrow ear canals, I'm told. I keep them clean & trimmed & he's already on a non allergy food, he had other allergy problems, but he still scratches his ears & the hair gets very tangled round his head & neck. |

| When I got Tinkerbell from the Humane Society, she itched so bad (and must have been itching for some time before) her earflaps became thickened and there were scabs and oozing sores on her ears. I immediately put an e-collar on her and took her to the vet. They gave me an antibiotic ointment for the sores and to soften the scabs, as she thought the scabs were making her itch. As her ears began healing, the itching did not improve, so she gave Tink 2 doses of Revolution, one for that day and the 2nd for 2 weeks later. The vet said that Yorkies are prone to getting mites, and that the Revolution (Heartworm product) would get rid of them. I had my doubts, but I must say it worked. Within two weeks she no longer need the e-collar, and her poor ears healed up beautifully, no scars or anything.
