| homeopathic remedies Has anyone tried homeopathic remedies? I am considering trying one for itch relief. My sister is a hearty proponent of them for people and thought they might work for Latte. I found a site and I liked reading the reviews: Only Natural Pet Skin & Itch Dog & Cat Homeopathic Remedy |

| Homeopathic remedies can be a good thing but you need to know that what you use is safe to give your pet as some things that people can take can be toxic to your pet. Also some things may not mix well with medications so Always consult with your vet before trying anything & remember that just because it's Homeopathic doesn't mean your pat can't have an allergic reaction to it. I use lot's of Homeopathic & Natural things for my pets and myself & prefer them but just be sure you do your research & consult with your vet. Have you tried a hypoallergenic food for your pup ? as dogs often have food allergies. |

My furkids Donating Member | I do believe in going the natural route ,if possible, instead of medications and chemicals, talking about furbutts! We camp alot in the summer. The girls are 7 yrs and 5 yrs. Between the 2 they have had MAYBE 5 fleas...and each a tick or 2...I will not use chemicals on them...My Mom got this from a holistic vet in our area. 1 cup of water 15-25 drops of peppermint oil. put in a spray bottle...shake well...saturate a paper towel/towel and wipe the animal down...starting under the neck, belly, head..and so on...we haven't had a flea or tick since we have been doing this.,,only draw back...it has to be done every couple of days...but it is better for them...they smell good and it doesn't make their hair greasy...very soft in the matter of the fact...this all being sad.....I would ask your vet before you do anything to your pet...

| Mine have never had a flea or tick and I would never use any of those toxic chemicals on or in them. Here is a good site for mixing up things to combat insects. Chinaroad Lowchens of Australia - Ticks, fleas, bees, flies, snakes and other gremlins! And how to deal with them!

| homeopathic remedy I did check with the vet and they said it would be fine. They sell the homeopathic remedies for anxiety, but not itch relief in their office. So I ordered it. Since she still started itching and scooting again today, I am visiting them for a long talk about how long this has been going on and what else can we try. I think she needs to try a different cortisone. (And before anyone gets started on the cortisone, she takes the lowest does possible to make her comfortable. It's the quality of her life that is most important to me. I want her happy and loving-not itchy and miserable.) |

| allergies-UGH! Yes, we're back to food allergies as the culprit and she's back to fish and sweet potato-not a commercial food-cooked at home. Duck jerky and carrots and peanut butter for treats. I can tell she really misses her oatmeal and peanut butter cookies. :O( |
