| Stella & Chewy's Dried Raw Food I just started Zoey on this food. Today I noticed that the protein is 37% and fat is 34%. Isn't this really high for a yorkie? Gina, RIP, was on a low protein and fat diet. She passed from pancreatitis last year. I don't want Zoey to suffer from that terrible disease. Any input is very welcome. Zoey will be 2 on the 30th of this month. I gave her raw food - not the dried stuff - for most of her life but changed to kibble when I rescued Jackson and he ate too much and the cost got out of hand. Cherie

| Hmmm... that does seem odd, and VERY high? I wonder how the freeze dried foods are done. I am not sure on that one. I know with their frozen raw foods the fat is somewhere around 11% (which still would end up being more if converted on a dry matter basis). But still, not 34%. A few of Primal raw foods are around 4%. That seems a bit odd. I hope someone with more knowledge in regards to conversion and Guaranteed Analysis in dog foods will chime in.

| 34% fat is way too high, especially for Yorkies. JMO, it is a major risk to feed it. If your pup has any leanings toward pancreatitis (and Yorkies do), then it could easily trigger it.

| I am going to go to their website and check this out. It seems way out of the range that I want to feed her. I will just go back to the frozen raw food since she did so well on it.

| The freeze drieds all seem to be in that 28-35% fat range for Stella and Chewys. I just did dry matter basis conversion on two of the frozen ones (beef and chicken). They are still 30% minimum for one and 36 for the other. No reason to take the risk.

| I just checked out their site and will be going back to frozen raw. It is yucky but the %'s are better that the 30%s that Stella and Chewys contain. Thanks for your input.
