| Which puppy food and for how long?? I'm getting a new baby yorkie for Christmas and want to know what type of puppy food all of u would recommend. And how long to use it...when do they go to regular food? And if they offer puppy food or puppy food for small breeds which is best?? I read the other thread regarding what do u feed your yorkie but my question is geared more towards which puppy food....thanks all!!! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Before bringing your little one home I would check to see what he/she is already on. I would keep them on what they are currently eating for a couple of weeks until they are used to your home. Many times puppies don't eat alot in the beginning because they are nervous, so an abrupt change in diet is not always a good thing. If you decide to switch, I would do so gradually. This will help so you don't end up causing a GI upset. I had Taycie on puppy food until she was a year old. After her first birthday, I switched her to a adult food. As far as brand, go with what works well for your new puppy. Many dogs will do great on one brand while another dog will not. So there really isn't one "best" brand.
