| Food ingredients Hi everybody ( that was from dex) I feed dex TOTW high prairie.. He has been on this since the day I got him. My question is what is a healthy % of protein fat and fiber? I've noticed some of the other high quality foods have a higher % of protein fat but less % of fiber. Any comments on the negatives of having higher protein and fat? Is the fat content what most worry about for pancreatitis? Any thoughts or concerns... Thanks! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I think percentages depend on your dog. Some dogs really do well on higher protein, on the other hand some are not able to tolerate it. My Taycie never was able to tolerate super high protein, she always ended up with a very upset stomach. As for Pancreatitis, feeding high fat food defiantly can lead to possible bout of pancreatitis. I honestly never felt comfortable feeding something overly high in fat to a breed that has such issues with Pancreatitis. There are many other things that contribute to Pancreatitis like feeding table scraps, getting into something they shouldn't etc.... For me, if bloodwork is coming back ok you are probably ok. Most importantly your vet needs to be aware of what you are feeding. I know many on here feed TOTW and really like it. If your vet is comfortable on what you are feeding and he is thriving on it then there is no reason to switch

| Yeah. He likes it and seems to be doing well on TOTW. I was just wanting to do a switch for him. He doesn't get any table scraps and rarely gets treats. I really like to regulate how much he eats and when. Guess I will just stay with TOTW, but he may eventually get tired of it. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Is there a reason you want to switch him? I don't think making a switch is a bad thing if there is a reason but if you are worried about him getting tired of it then you will create a picky puppy. Dog's don't get picky or tired of things.. Owners do

| TOTW is an excellent food IMO. If your pup is doing well on it, I'd stick with it! |

| Yeah this owner does get bored of things! Lol I do think the food is good, I just wish that the kibble was a little smaller! He does manage to chew it up but it's a little harder for him! Somewhere on here I read that TOTW was coming out with a puppy formula, which was really exciting news! Anyone know when this is suppose to happen? |
