| When to feed adult potions/serving size. Hello everyone. I have a question. I feed roxy natures variety pre-made raw. It's an all life stages food so I don't have to change her food as she gets older but I eventually do have to reduce the amount she eats. She is 7 months old now I need to know when would be the right time to do this. Should I just let her eat as much she wants or reduce her portions if I notice too much weight gain? I just want her to be healthy and would prefer not to wait until she got fat to make a change. Last edited by cdra; 10-25-2011 at 09:08 PM. |

| I've always adjusted portions based on their body shape. I give a little extra, if I know they'll be using more energy on any particular day though. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I also feed Natures Variety, I am a silky terrier breeder and I recomend to my parents to not change their portions until the dog is 12 months, then take the recomended daily allowance and divide it in two equal portions and feed them breakfast and dinner, if you notice that your dog is eating it and still licking and licking the next day I will add a little more, but I usually keep my dogs in the recomended daily portions.. | Thanks for the advice. I do follow the portion recommendations on nv's web site. I'll go ahead and reduce the amount I feed her when she's 1 and see how she does with that amount. I can tell when she needs extra cause she eats out of my other dogs bowl. I free feed him nv's instinct kibble. Thanks again!! |
