| Yorkie Bites Recipe. Have any of you made your own dog treats? If so I was thinking of using this: 2 cups whole wheat flour [would white flour be bad?] 3 tbsp Oatmeal 1 egg lightly beaten 1 tsp garlic powder 1/3 cup of beef or chicken broth/stock Seems like a simple recipe with nothing harmful right? Just wondering if white flour is bad for the dogs or not because I have never bought whole wheat flour! But if I need to I may go buy a small bag. |

| I've heard that dogs love garlic (Victoria Stillwell), however, I also was to understand that dogs can't have garlic. I would just omit the garlic just to be on the safe side.

| Garlic is an ingredient in some dog foods, which I always found confusing. Then again, AvoDerm is a dog food based off avacodos which are also supposed to be toxic to dogs. I'd like to avoid those things all together just to be safe!

| yeah maybe it's not harmful in certain forms... like powder. But I will just omit that as I'd rather not find out! How about something to replace it... is cinnamon bad? or homemade/natural bacon bits? |

| I think with the oatmeal, egg, and broth, it will be plenty yummy for a dog!

| I'm not really sure about that. I asked before but didn't really get any replies. I always thought whole wheat was more healthy bc the hull is still on, like rice I guess? But then many high quality dog foods say no wheat. Wheat and whole wheat is different though. Is "wheat" not good for dogs but "whole wheat" is ok? IDK!
