| Nutro or No? I'm currently using Nutro Natural Choice Small breed puppy for my 5 month puppy, and I tried to find some information on whether this is a decent food or not but haven't been able to find anything about Nutro so far! Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

| Google "Nutro Consumer Affairs" and you may not want to feed it anymore Each dog reacts differently to different foods. It's all about finding what works best for your individual dog. If you are looking for something available at Petsmart or Petco, I like Castor & Pollux, Blue Buffalo, Innova, Solid Gold, Wellness, etc. Petco seems to offer more of a "natural" selection than Petsmart. Specialty-type stores usually carry food lines such as Orijen, Acana, Fromm, Nature's Variety, etc. I came across Castor & Pollux Organix after Jackson's tummy issues a few months ago and must say it's probably the best he's done on a food so far. It does contain some grains but he loves the flavor of it (and he's picky!) and his coat is great, his eye goop is minimum, his poops are 2x a day and firm and solid, etc. I've been really happy with the product thus far. Just started feeding Innova low fat canned with good luck too, despite the Proctor & Gamble buyout, I haven't seen anything to prove any quality has changed.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't feed it, but I know many do. I was shocked! They had the Instinct treats as well. I think it is a very new thing.

| I fed Moses Nutro for about 4 Months. He didn't love it at all. Then when I read about the company, I switched him to TOTW. He does average on that food. The lady at a specialty store gave me a sample of Lotus grain free duck formula and he loves it. But he always seems to love something til I spend 14 dollars on it! Lol!

| So does my girl! She gets more happy about eating than she does about treats, just wanted to make sure it was fairly recommended to feed her.

| It's not really recommended by most..... Those dog food rating sites are a good stepping stone but they don't tell you anything about the company itself, recalls, where the food is produced, how many dogs have died while eating it, etc....

| When Sasha was a puppy, I fed her Nutro most of the time and once she reached adulthood, I fed her I'd say about 2 bags of the adult small bites formula before I joined this site and did some of my own research. Had I known then what I do now, I probably wouldn't had chosen to feed her that food when she was a pup. Some people do feed Nutro though and their dogs do very well on the food. Ingredient wise I really don't think it's a bad food, but I personally wouldn't feed it as some customer testimonials about the food scare me. I'm even hesitant about feeding their treats. I do give Sasha their small biscuits that are carrot, apple and blueberry flavored as potty treats since they're so small and I can break them in half, but as far as their other biscuits go, I'm just a little hesitant. |

| I was feeding my Shih tzu Oreo nutro natural choice lamb and rice small bites for a couple of years up until 3 months ago when I got roxy my yorkie. He did ok with it but would throw up about once a mOnth. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with him. He was a little overweight too. When I hot roxy I researched dog food and switched them both to natures variety instinct and he is much better. Lost the extra weight and has more energy. I wouldn't feed it again.
