| Calvin Losing Weight So last year Calvin had a liver shunt. In March at his six month check-up his levels were still high so my vet said that he probably has micro shunts. The last weight that they have for Calvin in 7 lbs. I actually thought it was 7.4. Anyway, over the weekend my son decided to weigh him and he is down to 6.2 lbs. I am concerned that there is something going on. I called my vet and he told me to bring him in and weigh him on their scale. Am I being overly neurotic or is this something that I should really be concerned about. Ever since his liver shunt I worry so much over him. Any advice would be great. |

| I totally understand your worry. I am the same when something is going on and you, better than anyone else, know your pup and recognize changes that are happening. I say follow your instinct and have him checked out, so you will know for sure what is happening and then you can go from there.

| Calvin is a picky eater. He's not like his sister who I have to watch what she eats because she'll eat hers & his...he never ate alot to begin with...to make sure he ate tonight I gave him some of Bella's NB mixed in with his prescription food...he ate it but there was still some left in his bowl...Bella has to go for her shots Thursday so my vet said to bring Calvin in so he can weigh him there & then if he has lost that much weight then he will do blood work. I worry so much about him & my vet knows how bad I am when it comes to him. |
