| Food Help Hello. My yorkie is a lil bit over 3 years. He doesn't wanna eat his dry food(royal canine). I've mixed it with wet food. At first he would eat it, but he stopped (natural balance) eating it. What do you guys think I should do? I feed him chicken breast when he doesn't eat for an entire day. He will eat that. But I want to feed him his food so he could get all his vitamins and that he needs. Help |

| How many days have you gone just putting the food down, picking it up if pup doesn't eat, putting it down for next meal, etc. giving no snacks in between and not coating it to entice eating? Yorkies are expert at getting the food that they feel like eating that particular day and they will wear you out if you give in too quickly. As long as there is no history of hypoglycemia as an adult, then going some time without eating isn't going to hurt.

| We have food available most of the time. When they want to eat, they eat. We don't do anything special to get them to eat. |

| I would say about a day and a half. The thing is that I'm not home all the time since I work. My lil bro drops food and I think he eats some and no longer wishes to eat his own food. But I change his food daily. He won't even eat the treats. Like hes on starving mode. Quote:

| It just doesn't take alot of food to keep a yorkie going. Thats why mine are overweight and are now on prescription dog food. My little 4lb. Dudley knows when to stop eating. Eats about a tbsp. or so at mealtime. Kayla is our little piggie. She doesn't know when to stop. So now she is on a diet. Maybe your little guy is eating more than you think if you free feed too. Thats what I had to stop doing. They are all pudgie except Dudley. Hope things work out for you. They can worry you to death, but, I don't think he is going to starve himself unless he is sick or something. He may just be a picky eater. |
