| It's labeled as safe for dogs up to 22 lbs. However, I use half doses and have for a long time and never have had a flea or tick.

I give Jackson K9 Advantix in the summer because Frontline doesn't cut it here. But always wondered if ALL that was truly necessary to be effective. It just always seems like I'm putting sooo much crap on his shoulder/back.

| I split the dose between Max and Teddy. We have never seen a flea, but Teddy was a magnet for the ticks this spring. Admittedly, I was likely at fault not applying it on time, but the ticks were bad this year.

| My vet told me yesterday that Frontline is no longer recommended in Florida. It has become ineffective.

| I use the full dose Frontline plus every six weeks on my 7 lb. Dori. No fleas, no ticks, no problem.

Now we use Revolution it is both heart worm and flea pill given once a month. We have No Fleas, and we live in Fl. a flea problem area year round. It is my understanding that Revolution or Comfortis can not be given to dogs under 5 lbs. Also my vet does not recommend it for breeding bitches or studs, it may affect fertility or cause other problems. | |

| I also split a dose between my two here. My vet wouldn't say that it was not safe to give them the whole thing, however, they did support my decision to split the dose between the two and said it should work just fine- I have done this the whole time I have had them and have never had a flea problem. They did say to shake the tube really good before doing this- I don't know if that makes a difference but I do it anyway.

Is it ok to do that with the others beside Frontline too. I use k9 Advantix right now. If half would work I would feel better putting it on my girls.

| Mine is recommending Vectra 3D. I have not had time to look into it. I use the K9 Advantix now and I have never had a flea problem.

Well then, I am going to start halving the dose too. Mine are 3 1/2 lb and 5 1/2 lb. I think one tube should cover both of them. Thanks for letting me know.
