| No but I've been using Frontline for 11 years now and I've never pulled a tick or seen a flea. I also have not had any adverse effects and my 11 year old yorkies are active like puppies. I even use frontline on my epileptic dog.

| The serious side effects from chemical's used to combat fleas and ticks, over inoculating/medication and most dog foods generally don't start showing up right away. Sometimes not for a few years even, but eventually it will. I've never seen a tick or flea on my 16 year old (deceased Chihuahua) or my Yorkie girls who are 6 and 4 years old, and I've never put chemical's on them to prevent it. I go the holistic approach. It's much safer. Why take chances with our precious little ones!

So we will continue to use Advantix because it's the only thing that keeps the ticks totally away from us. Though I only use Advantix in the summer months and back to Frontline from around October-April because I am not totally comfortable using the permethin in Advantix year-round. Btw, he got Lymes in January, a cold month, and ticks were still getting on him in December so they are here all year. Believe me, I would LOVE not to use anything but it's just not always a possibility.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Advantix and Lyme Vaccine Greetings Yorkie lovers! I need advice. I have a 1 year old male yorkie ( My first baby ever) I got hime vaccinated for Lyme. I wanted to know if using Advantix II for fleas & ticks is necessary if he has had the lyme vaccine? Any advice you can provide would be very helpful- I find the advantix to be overpriced and if it is not a necessary than I won't bother buying it. Thanks!!!! |
