| My dog has been scratching at his ears/head and I found two fleas, one on stomach one on his head. I couldn't grab the one on his head because it moved to fast and I spent 30 minutes trying to find it again but no luck. He is on Frontline but the dog that lives upstairs from our apartment brough back fleas/ticks from the owner not using preventative in Wisconsin. -What should I do? I can't find any more fleas but with all of his hair they could be in there somewhere. -Should I bathe him and reapply treatment, just reapply treatment, or just give him a bath? -Does clipping his hair shorter make a difference in terms of fleas and ticks? Thanks! |

| Vasoline! what a great idea!! I dont think that hair length matters to the critters. Mina's is short because I like it that way. You can not reapply Frontline before it is time,it could be toxic. You can bath your baby and do a search. Water slows them down just a little and to me wet hair is easier to look through. |

It's actually what type of food dogs eat that change their body chemistry and attract fleas. Mine have never had a flea or tick and I do not use those harsh chemicals on them. After a bath, I use BRAGG apple cider vinegar mixed with water as a final rinse. When we travel, I take along a spray bottle with 8 ounces of water (I use distilled or bottled water) 6 drops of tea tree oil and 6 drops of lavender oil. All natural, and it works to keep fleas off!!
