| Interceptor Flavor Tabs The vet gave us Interceptor Flavor Tabs de-worming medicine for our puppy. Has anyone else used this? Does it give the dog diarrhea? I can't find anything on the website about side effects. |

| I have used it in the past and don't recall it causing any problems. I use Sentinal now.

| Interceptor is the only heartworm medication I've ever used on my yorkies. My vet only recommends Interceptor & Sentinel.

| Interceptor is a great drug. Never any issues with it here. The package insert might list side effects along with maybe drugs.com.

| Interceptor Hi, I give my Enzo interceptor and he has never had any issues - we follow a complete holistic protocol due to his health issues and my homeopathic vet does recommend interceptor - but we give him 1 pill every two months instead of one every month per her instructions. The holistic vet I saw before my current one suggested one every 6 weeks so it seems that are all on the same type page. |

| Thanks everyone! I had been holding off giving Ozzy the medication because I was dreading him having loose bowel moments. I gave him his first pill last night after I read your posts and so far so good. We're supposed to give him another in two weeks, then once more two weeks after that. |

| Have used Interceptor for years and have never had a problem. I think you will like it. Mine also take it real easy. I have never had to put it in cheese or anything to get them to take it. They just take it right down with no problem. Good luck. |

I think you should call your vet for further clarification.

I have had many pups with various health conditions and my vet has never cut the heartworm preventative dosage down. Further, my pups and/or my fosters have never had any untoward issues due to heartworm preventatives.

| I'm looking right at the package and it says Interceptor Flavor Tabs, and the instructions say "give 1 chewable tablet today and repeat every two weeks for 3 treatments. Give with food." The instructions are on a sticker put on by the vet. From our conversation with the vet I was under the impression it was just for regular type worms. Last edited by DJDB; 07-07-2011 at 08:32 PM. |
