| Homemade Foods I am really really thinking about making Rosie's food at home instead of buying food. She has a sensitive tummy which is a concern. She is on I/D because of her tummy. She will eat the can but walks away from the dry with her nose in the air. She loves chicken which makes me think about cooking her food myself. Can you please tell me what you feed your pup if you do the homemade meals?

| My puppies also have a very sensitive tummy so I give them avoderm chicken w/ brown rice mixed with broiled chicken that I cook daily. They have been doing great with that compared to any canned food.

| We have done egg and sweet potato, meat/poultry with grain and veggie, fish and oatmeal, etc., etc. Homecooked is by far my favorite thing to feed adult dogs, but I'm not sure I'd ever do it again unless it was medically necessary. I got burnt out and Ellie just stopped doing well on it. Perhaps it was because she needed a non-animal protein and we hadn't tried that. Kibble (while IMO is not the best thing for a dog) is SO MUCH easier. And for my dog, it is better. I just don't think my dog did well enough on homecooked (even when we first started and she was doing fine) to make it worth it. If you think it would help her though, you can always consult with a veterinary nutritionist and get a recipe. Is the I/D not working? Even if she is doing okay, but homecooking is your preference, that is okay. Lots of time, money (more expensive), and freezer space needed. Also, you become quality control. When I'd forget how long a bowl of food had been in the fridge, to the garbage it went. Wasted a TON of mmoney bc I'm not one to keep up with things like that.

I have been home cooking for my dogs for 11 years now. My boys eat chicken breast and brown rice with some sort of vegetable along with fish oils and the BalanceIt supplement. Daisy is complicated, so I won't get into it here. Anyway, if you feel Rosie likes chicken, Vet nutritionist Dr. Remillard's website has a diet "Chicken and Brown Rice with vegetables for Dogs" that is a lower fat option. The diets on her site cost $25 and are used with the BalanceIt supplement. www.petdiets.com I have used this diet and it may be what you are looking for. Also her website has a lot of information that you might find helpful. I think home cooking has its benefits and its drawbacks. I am happy to discuss anything if you need any help

The I/D is working great. She does not have any tummy issues with it at all. However, she just seems like she doesn't like it as much. She will eat the can but if I put it with dry she walks away. Her breakfast is still sitting in the kitchen right now. She just will not eat it. I tried other foods and her tummy is just to sensitive. That is why I thought maybe homecooking would be good for her.

| Can you just give the canned all the time? If she is doing well on the I/D and her vet is okay with using it continually, that is what I'd be doing. Balanceit.com sells the supplement. It's the only all in one supplement for homecooking.

| I agree...but if you wanted another option then Dr R's website could be a start. I might even do a consult with Dr R if this were my dog. No she does not sell BalanceIt or any other supplement.
