| Chloe's sick? Please help Chloe and Fiona went swimming in the Illinois River today this is really the 2nd time Fiona went swimming and the first time Chloe was brave enough to try They also were very worked up when a boat went by and created waves (the noise of the waves made them go crazy) they were biting at the waves. Well we got home I really noticed Chloe was having a difficult time breathing but she wasn't acting like she was upset or anxious, but she just wanted to lay down and rest, she did however want treats and when I mentioned a walk she was all for it. Her gums remained pink the whole time and she was shaking when she had difficulty breathing but she is not doing that now. I called the emergency vet and they said that she was probably just tired and to keep an eye on her but they were only on call until 10 pm. I thought the humidity would be good for her so we went for a short walk, well anyway her breathing did improve but now she cannot control her bladder and every time she gets up she has a wet spot and when she goes out she pees right away. Has anyone ever had this problem, I don't know if she drank too much water or has a UTI or what? Last edited by anpfaff1983; 07-01-2011 at 08:02 PM. |

| I am sorry that No One has responded to you. I hope your baby is Ok by now, but if not I would deff get her to the vet as it sounds like she may have aspirated some water into her lungs. |

| The first time I took Tink kayaking she ingested a lot of water, and peed alot afterwards. She didn't have any trouble with breathing though. I would still take her in to be checked by the vet as pneumonia could set in after a few days. Hope she's doing okay.

| Thanks for your advice Chloe is doing great I think she just took in too much water when she was biting at it, she peed a lot!!! She was incontinent of some of it b/c her bladder is small and she could not hold it or possibly she was too exhausted, but we do know her kidneys are working I think she was just in fluid overload which is why she was having trouble breathing. She is doing great now! Last edited by anpfaff1983; 07-04-2011 at 08:07 AM. |

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | I know this has been a few days ago. I would suggest limiting her time in the water. I believe they can have big problems with this as i just lost my lexi to similar reactions I was sure she was having a allergic reaction and benadryl usually helped but by the time i got some it was to late Matter of five ten minutes. Please don't take chances and learn from my mistake. I would watch her close and next time take her right to the vet you never know whats going on. I feel like i could have saved my peanut and am so ashamed of myself for letting this happen and not having packed the benadryl. Please be careful.
