| Upset tummy? Need advice please The past 2 days Thor has been eating, playing and over all looks good but he has been asking to go ouside almost every hour. I let him out and he poops one tiny poop then comes back in. If i dont let him out he is desperate and does it in the house or his crate or even in the car something he has never done. This has been all day and all night. He used to go in the am at about 3 then again before bed nothing like what is going on now. He is 6 months and weighs 5 pounds with NO health issues till now. He is not lethargic or anything this is why I've not taken him to the vet. Of course if not better by to tomorrow I will take him in before the weekend --------- I was looking for advice from you guys.

| No advice here. That sounds very odd and he should see the vet today.

| something is going on- sounds like he is constipated for some reason- could be something simple or could be a blockage of some kind- I would get him to the vet to be checked out today if possible.

| Thank you guys for helping me realize what an idiot I am by not takin Thor to the vet right away. She tested him for Giardia since the stool was loose and he tested positive. She said he must have drank some bad water but said he barely tested positive. Is that like being just a little pregnant? Anyway she gave me some pills called Metronidazole and some liquid called Panacur Suspension. So I thought great but then she told me the pills MAY make him trow up or have seizures so I needed to watch him closely. Now I'm scared to give him the pills! I just spent the last 30 min spraying the yard with a mix of water and bleach, washing all his toys and bed because she said it's contagious to other pets and people. So far no one else is sick and I still can't determine were he got the bad water. I'm so frustrated and feel so bad for my little furbaby.

| Giardia leaves a lot of dogs asymptomatic and sometimes the test comes back negative when it's present. It's treated when symptoms are present. It sounds like he will be fine. I have given both drugs and all was fine (did have vomiting with the Panacur which occurs in 1 and 200 some odd cases). If pup pukes, clean it up and move on. Don't give at the time time so if the Panacur is vomited up, the Metro isn't also vomited up.

| Oh thank god! I have had many dogs and have never had this before. I'm still trying to figure out how he got it. This is my first Yorkie and I have wanted one for 20+ yrs so I'm extra sensitive and amazed at how attached I have become. They are sure easy to LOVE. Thank you for your help.

| My oldest Yorkie came with giardia- he was successfully treated with the same medications you are using.
