| Migrating microchip? I had my puppy microchipped when she was spayed in February. She was just over 6 months old at the time. In the last week or so I noticed a bump about the size of a grain of rice (same shape - long cylindrical and hard) on her right front shoulder. Could it be her microchip? Will it cause her any problems being there? I have an appointment to have her groomed the week after next and the groomer is at the vet's office. She will be getting a vaccination that day too. Should I ask them to have the tech check to see if it is the chip? Or could it be something else that can't wait that long? |

| I have heard and have read microchips can and have migrated. Not sure what the rate of occurrence is. I am an overprotective mother and would probably not wait to take my pup in - I would be worried of further migration. You could always call your vet and ask if it can wait to be seen.

| Tink's migrated, and the HS gave her another one. The first chip is now at the end of her ribcage, next to her spine. Both read fine. The first one has turned into a bump and the vet said just to watch it, if it gets any bigger or causes her discomfort she would remove it. It showed up on xray too. I would make sure to mention it before they vaccinate her though.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie was at the Er vet tonight and they did Xays and he showed me where her chip was. It has moved slightly but still in the same area. So they do show up on Xrays.
