| Diarrhea when traveling, tips please! We went to the beach for the Memorial Day weekend. The night before we left we had been packing and running around. I think the girls knew something was up. Holly started with her diarrhea and it was worse Saturday just before we left. Because of her recent bout with HGE, I started her on antibiotics, Fortiflora and a canned prescription GI diet. She cleared up by Sunday, then Gracie started in. I kept them both on the GI diet and Fortiflora. I packed bottled water with us and only gave them that. Gracie gets really excited when she goes on a road trip. It takes her a few days to quiet down and get in the routine of being in the car all day. I'm sure that is what caused her squirts because today she is back to normal (we got home last night). I'm going to switch them to a chicken and rice only diet a week or so before the next trip in September, and start back on Fortiflora at the same time. Does anyone have any other tips for keeping diarrhea away while traveling? Does anyone have suggestions for an herbal product to help calm Gracie down when she is on a long car trip? Thanks much.

| My Yorkie had this same problem. I switched to a raw food diet and never had a problem again. |

| I've heard really good things about the thunder shirts. Maybe you could try that? Put it on a day or two before you go and keep it on during the trip? |

| Did the vet recommend the course of action you took- meds/ prescription food? If not, I would get their recommendation- they may be able to try an anxiety medication just for vacation times, or maybe they have another idea. Antibiotics for anxiety just sounds like an odd solution;.
