| Help...Picky Eater!!! I need some help picking a new dry adult food. Bella will eat anything and eats it so fast that I don't think she even tastes it. Winston on the other hand is very picky. I am currently feeding the Natural Balance potato and duck formula and he ate it at first and now doesn't have interest in it. I have to get the tubes of natural balance food and put some on top of his dry food for him to even attempt it and then he usually picks out all the good stuff. Also I think the kibbles are too hard or something cause he has a really small jaw/mouth and sometimes seems to have issues with it and maybe that is why he doesn't like it. What food do you recommend that is good quality, for a picky eater that has smaller kibbles? Thanks for your help everyone!!! |

| I've recently tried Princess on Taste of the Wild. She is very picky so at first I would mix in some low fat cottage cheese. After a few days I began slowing reducing the amount and now she eats it dry. It's grain free, seems to be healthy and have good reviews. It does not have small kibble, though Princess has never had a problem chewing it. I emailed the company and they sent me a generous amount of free samples, maybe you could try that.

| I've tried many different things with Alice and I've found that I have to "rotate" what she gets for each meal (I started doing this with my other 4 pets now too and they thank Alice for making me think). I started using Nature's Variety and that makes it easy to rotate. For example - I'll give the raw chicken medallions for breakfast, then the beef kibble for dinner. Next day I'll give the beef kibble with a tsp. of rabbit canned mixed in then venison medalions for dinner. It's a great food and a really dedicated company and I get no digestive upset by switching between the flavors and forms. The first time I gave Alice the raw food was the first time in the 2 months I've had her that she would actually eat her food out of the bowl lol. She now eats every meal pefectly because she never knows what it will be I think these little stinkers just don't want to eat the same exact thing for every meal and honestly, I don't blame them Edit: Oh, their kibble pieces are small too

| Try Kirkland Small Dog Scooter is a picky eater too. I had him on Wellness Core which was great. My neighbor recommended trying Kirkland Brand Small Dog (Costco's instore brand). Her dogs loved it. I did a bunch of online research because I was happy with Wellness Core. With the tiny amount of food our Yorkies eat everyday, I want every bite to count. Here it is almost two years later and my guy still can't get enough of it. The biggest catch is I have to buy a 20 lb bag, it doesn't come any smaller. I solved that problem by breaking down the big bag into much smaller portions the day I get it. I have a food vacuum sealer which is a life saver. I pull out a sealed bag every time fin needs more and it is just as fresh as the day I bought it. Scooter can't get enough of it. His coat is really soft and his stools are normal. Wellness Core was somewhere around $18 for a 4 lb bag. Kirkland Small Dog is about $12. You do have to have a Costco membership though. I should note that I do add a spoonful of chicken or bison (the same stuff I eat) to it occasionally as an added surprise. It helps change it up just enough where he doesn't ever get bored with it. If you have a Costco Membership, try Kirkland. If your dog doesn't bond with it, they will let you return the open bag for a refund.

| I have started using Wellness for small breed. The kibble is very tiny and so far everyone likes it. Im sure that is subject to change but for now it works. |

| Right now, my Lucy is liking Blue Buffalo - the Senior version. I give her that to limit her protein; she has other health issues. But she is a picky eater and seems to like it. She loves it if I mix in a few canned carrots, chicken broth; or some canned 99% meat from Wellness. I use Chicken or Turkey and Ringo can also eat Lamb and/or Beef. She will eat it dry in the morning - usually not all of it though unless she thinks Ringo is going to try and steal it. Then, she'll eat the whole thing.
