| Trouble changing food RC to Wellness My Lacey (7 mo) has been on Royal Canin Puppy 33 since we brought her home about 2 months ago. I would like to switch to something a little better as the reviews for RC don't seem all that good and the price is WOW. She has no health issues and seems fine on the RC at the moment. We've just finished week 1 with a mixture 1/4 Wellness Puppy Super 5 to 3/4 Wellness. She's such a stinker and eats around the new food. She will eat the other, but really doesn't unless that's all that's left in the bowl. Am I in for trouble with this pickiness? Should I try another Wellness mixture? Another brand? Also there is one other thing to consider...maybe. I'm having her spayed in a couple of weeks and some baby teeth extracted. Should I delay this whole process until after recover from the surgery? Thanks for your input and suggestions!!! |

| I would try mixing in more of the Wellness super 5, and even a little less of the RC. She may not be as picky if she sees that their is more Wellness in her bowl. Are the Welllness kibble bigger then the RC? I have not used RC before so not sure if the size is the same or what. How long have you been trying her on the new food? Sometimes it takes a while tor them to get use to a new food. She will not starve herself. Do you free feed her? I am also just starting to mix Wellness super 5 with Evo red meat , small bites, because my Shih Tzu looks likeshe could use some weight on her, they love the new stuff, but, I did at first notice they prefered Wellness over the new kibble which is actually smaller sized kibble. Having her spayed and a couple teeth extracted in 2 weeks should not effect the change in her diet , plent of time for her to get use to the new food. One nice thing about wellness is that you can buy it canned. I would reccomend getting some of the canned for her to eat after the teeth extraction, just until she feels better. But always consult a vet before hand what would be best for her to eat after her surgery. The organic wellness is very high in protien, 95% . So if she has trouble eating at all afterwards , you could always supplement her feedings using that. Perhaps even mixing a little of the canned with the new kibble up really really well , she might take a better liken to it.

| ^ Thanks for the advise. Lacey is now on week 2 of 100% Wellness Just for Puppy and loving it. I think I was a putting too much thought into the process. |

| My Kody switched from RC to Wellness Super 5 Mix it's been a few weeks but now his stool is really loose. He was neutered a week ago. Any suggestions.
