| She hates her toothbrush! Oh please tell me it gets easier and I haven't waited too long to introduce this to her?! I don't expect her to love it right away either. I just won't give up that easily, not in my nature! However, everyday I have to fight her to stay still and I'm not confident I'm actually getting her teeth good?! I've got a mouthrinse also. I can hold her still long enough for that. I also got her Denta Stix. I was hoping a combination of all 3 would promote healthy gums and teeth for her. I just need some reassurance that this gets even a smidge easier! LOL

| You should try to brush them everyday so she does get use to it, Giver her a treat after as well,They even have brushes that go on your finger-Some dogs like those better. To this day it is a fight with Peanut, DH has to help me hold him to get them really good.

| Brushing teeth should be an easy and pleasant experience for both the dog and the owner. Sorta like this. Teddy was 8 months old here. I just introduced the toothbrush and encouraged him. Keep at it, you will get there!

I have a finger brush also. It came with both. I've tried both, but the regular brush seems to be a bit easier so far because she spends most of the time trying to chew it and I can maneuver it around a little bit that way. Don't got to worry about her biting down on my finger! She got so mad the first time that she snapped at me, well my finger!

| I actually just posted this on another thread about brushing lol. The vet I worked for was a big brushing advocate and here's what we taught our clients and what i did with my dogs: First get them to enjoy the toothpaste (since most pet toothpastes are chicken or beef flavored, this is pretty easy) - don't worry about actually brushing the first few days - just put some of the toothpaste on your finger and let them lick it off followed by praise and a treat and end there. (I did it for about a week, until they saw the tube and came running for it, then I moved to step 2) Next few days - put the toothpaste on your finger and rub the paste on their teeth followed by a treat. (in your case though, be carefull if she already snapped at you - wait till she's really likeing getting that toothpaste lol) Once they're used to that and happy about it, start with the brush. Mine love the CET chicken flavored toothpaste that my vet sells. they still don't really like getting their teeth brushed, but they love the paste enough to let me and they kind of chew on the brush like in the video posted so that works too
