| How much did you pay for your spay? I live in Toronto so i'd love if people who live near me would share their prices also because Lexie's vet told me the price of her spay(including bloodwork and 2 baby canines pulled) is $850. I thought that was ok but after reading around on here i'm noticing that seems kinda high so maybe i should shop around first before going ahead with it, thanks |

No Longer a Member | Wow that does seem high. I don't live in Canada but I just had a little one spayed last week. Normal spay is 85.00, I opted for the laser which is 40.00 more but alot easier on the dog. Her surgery was $125.00 and she had no stitches. |

| Ziva's was $150 but had 7 teeth pulled (at $3 each!) plus meds and stuff- just over $200.(I had it glued instead of stitches, can't even find the scar). My wheaten was back 2 times for ripping out stitches and then staples and they finally kept her overnight- no extra charges) |

| A little over $1000. LOL! So in the interest of full disclosure, Chloe also had to have a liver biopsy at the same time.

| For the pre-op blood work, spay and pain meds it was approximately $345 or so.

| Harley is due to be neutered in a few weeks and its $90.00 for his neutered and $50.00 for the blood work and $35.00 for the Microchip and $25.00 for 2 baby teeth remove...$205.00 for all and I think Bella's spay was like 265.00 for all spay/blood/chip/2baby teeth removed and I'm in South Florida...So $850.00 seems very high to me.

YT 1000 Club Member | Laparoscopic Spays I ran across this a while back... " Laparoscopic Spays are a revolutionary new technique for performing both ovariectomies and ovariohysterectomies in female cats and dogs. Performed through one to three small incisions in the abdomen rather than a large incision it offers a less painful, faster healing alternative to traditional spays. A study published in the 2005 Journal of the Veterinary Medical Association concluded laparoscopic spays caused less surgical stress and up to 65% less post-operative pain than a traditional open surgical spay." I'd give credit for the above, but, I can't remember where I got it. Anyhow, seems like this is a lot more "gentle" way to get this done. Just one/few small incisions to heal.

| I live in Miami-Dade county. Remy's blood work (very important), spay, 4 baby teeth pulled, micro chip, pain meds and post op check up was $550.00. I could have gone to the humane society.. I think it is $85.00 there.. but of course that did not cover the teeth, blood work, pain meds and other stuff... also I rather have someone who has worked on a lot of yorkies.

| wow, i cant beleive that price. Its crazy how different prices are depending on the area you live. its 120 for a spay where i work. My dads labrador puppy at 7 months had to have a luxating patella surgery and also got spayed at the same time, and including blood work, it was 750.00. I am just shocked some pay that much for a spay. I am fortunate to get a discount since i work there. So we dont pay much at all. |

| Hi!! I live just north of Toronto. We paid just under $500 when we had Pippin spayed (in 2009). That was for the entire laparascopic procedure (including 1 night stay at the clinic). Hope that helps with prices in Ontario... Good-luck!! Janet

| That's outrages! I live in Ontario, my vet charges $85.00 for blood work, so much a tooth which was 10.00 each for my babies and approx. 165.00 to spay plus HST, would be around 300.00 tops if that. Toronto vets do charge so much more, I know because of my Parrots. I'm 2 hrs southwest of T.O. So in a nutshell call around, find a cheaper price and approach your vet with the findings, alot of the time they will match the price. Good Luck .

| I paid $20 for a laser spay, including bloodwork and an additional $25 for pain meds. So, $45 total. |
