| I have been told it is 1 tsp per 10 pounds and 1 tsp per 5 pounds. I'm not so sure I would give it to a 3 pound baby. Does she have diahrea? Have you tried feeding plain rice? I have found that works well.

| Hi, what is wrong with your baby? Nausea? Vomiting? Loss of appetite? Diarrhea? Diarrhea with blood is very serious. If your vet approves the med for your baby The Veterinary Drug Handbook says for acute diarrhea give Pepto 1ml per 5kg or 1 ml per 5X2.2=11lbs. SO if the baby weighs 5 lbs --1/2 ml; if under 5 lbs I would give 1/3 or .3 mls no more than 3 times a day. But, always ask your vet what to give. The meds that the vet might need to prescribe might not be comaptible with the pepto. Don't know if it helps you I hope your baby is all better without meds.. |
