| Ring worm I really need some help and advice. Last year July my little Snoopy got 7 pups. I sold all of them and the people sends me pictures of them. One spesific buyer bought two puppies, all the pups were healthy when they left my premesis, now this lady phoned me 4 weeks after she got her pups to complain that both the pups got ringworms. None of my other pups had any ringworms, I also confirmed with the other owners. She phoned me again last night the pups are now 6 months old and told me both her yorkies does not have hair (ringworm took almost all the hair) When I ask her what the Vet said, she told me that the Vet said she bought a sick puppy from bad breeders and she does not want me to breed with my yorkies again? Now my pups and dogs live inside my house with my kids, I have never had this problem and don't know what I should do What advice an I give her? Thanks in advance |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Generally the incubation period for ringworm is 10 - 12 days....it's more likely they contradicted it while at her home. It's contagious and can be spread through sharing towels, brushes, bedding. A dog with ringworm must be treated aggressively....using all the medications and baths multiple times a week.

| Okay, I agree with the incubation period, but they could have had it prior and not known. Sorry, I am so sensitive to this because Tia came with it and spread it to everybody too. My vet did not even notice it. I am the one who questioned it after I got it. I noticed when we first got her that she had little scabs and thought nothing of it. The breeder had warned me prior that she had a little fight with her brothers and had cut her lip and the vet may not let her go because of it. Her lip looked like it was shaved to me (which could be explained) and puppies always fight and get bitten (which would explain little scabs). I did not find hair loss in the beginning, other than the shaved lip. They took Tia out to get used to the car ride and other people visited their house and I'm sure touched my baby. People can spread it to pups too. I'm not saying they got it at your house, there is really no way to tell...I just know Tia had it when I got her! |

| I would tell her that you spoke to the other owners and none of the pups have ringworm and if it had come from your home or that breeding they would have. Then I would ask to speak to her vet and I would also let him know so he no longer gives assumptions. Those pups have been with her long enough to get it from her house so the vet shouldnt have told her it was bad breeding. Now if she just got the pups took them to the vet and they had ringworm you would assume they got it from the breeders house but that is not the case here
