| Car sick? Anyone else's baby get car sick? Daisy threw up last night after I picked her up, but I kinda attributed it to her nerves. Then today on the way to and from the vet (12 min each way) she got car sick again (but it was just stomach bile as she isn't eating) anyone else deal with this? Can you give dogs dramamine or anything? LOL we planned on taking her with us to NJ over thanksgiving in our RV....

| My Jewels really gets car sick. She will throw up untill there is no more to throw up. I read on here where someone said to give them a chew stick or something to chew on.

| Deb got car sick a few weeks ago. And it lasted for 24 hours after we got home. My vet told me to not feed her the morning of her next car trip and wait an hour after you arrive where you are going to give her anything to eat to give her tummy time to settle. If it is going to be a long day, give her nutrical. Also, she also said that giving them something to chew on would help!! GOOD LUCK!!

| Carsickness My vet recommends 1/2 to 1 Bonine tablet 1 hour before travel begins. The dosage depends upon the weight of the dog. It works very well and can be purchased over the counter. By using this method at least the dog can have something to eat and not feel hungry. |

| Mom had hoped to be able to take her Yorkie with her all over town, but Little Bit gets car sick. Any suggestions for short hops? We live in the Ozarks and maybe the steep curvy roads don't help. |

| Car sick The steep, curvy roads are what really affect my 10 month old. He is fine on the straight away super highways. I'm sorry, but I've no idea what to do for short trips. Good luck in finding the answer. |

| First, don't feed them for two hours preceding a car ride. In order to get them used to riding in a car, start by taking them out to the car and just sitting in it for a few minutes then take them back into the house. It helps them if they can see out while you are driving. Next time, take them on maybe a five minute ride, but please avoid heavy traffic. It would be best to take them where there is little traffic and noise. Continue to increase the trip time and you should have a puppy that enjoys going for rides in the car. All we have to do at our house is say, "Want to go for a ride?" Then they head straight to the door!

| I think the back seat in a covered crate is the best place for a yorkie prone to car sickness. My Chai gets sick whenever she is in the front seat, but we took her on a ten hour car trip and she did fine in the back seat. I think it is like a person and if they sleep or can stay inside something else so they don't really sense the motion in relation to the inside of the car they do better. |

| Lucky gets carsick every time! I have put him in his crate in the back seat when we go on longer trips, but he still gets sick. I have also put him in his pet carrier in the front seat when its a short trip, but he still gets sick. I don't know what to do, except keep extra towels & napkins to clean up! |

As long as Maggie can see out the window, she is fine. She has a carseat in the back and a console carrier up front. Only once did she throw up and it was because she was sitting in the seat and couldn't see out. Since we have elevated her viewing level, all is fine.

| I am picking Lucy up in one week and it is an 8 hour car ride. That seems like a lot of time to not eat. Should I try and feed her a little half way through, or just give her Nutri-Cal every few hours?

| I would give her Nutri-Cal & maybe something to chew on. But hopefully she'll sleep most of the way! Good luck! |
