My furkids Donating Member | worms Admin...if this is in the wrong place please move.... Hi everyone!! It's been a while since I've been on...well actually I posted something a week ago and haven't gotten an answer...and I do come on a read posts...anyway...life has gotten busy and I just haven't had the time to sit and read/respond to posts....I do understand that this is a HUGE forum and posts do get pushed out quickly...very frustrating sometime....Here is my question How can my little furgirl (4 yrs old) get worms when she hasn't been outside since last summer?? I noticed one in her poop tonight...bringing it to the vet tomorrow to get tested....Gonna get Sadie poop too...If one has them I'm sure the other one does too...but HOW??!! She isn't a poop eater (I know...gross!) and I feed them good food...anyone have any ideas how this happened? Thanks in advance!

I thought fleas caused round worm? (I'm assuming that is what they are. saw one and it wasn't the size of a piece of rice...was a little longer). but the girls don't have any fleas...I have know idea how she could have gotten them.. and yes...I know posts can get buried...quite quickly. thank you again for your response!

Round worms are long, like spaghetti. Your vet will be able to tell what the worms are. | |

My furkids Donating Member | I believe they are round worms then...just disgusts me...This will be a first for Lillie (and Sadie...assuming she has them too) When I brought Lillie for her first vet visit she was tested for worms and didn't have any...neither did Sadie...I just hope the medication they give her doesn't make her sick.....she is only 5 pounds

| Eggs can come in on shoes. Dewormers are pretty safe. I woulnd't worry about using them. What kind of heartworm preventative are they on?

| Yes, your heartworm medication should prevent other worms. I use Interceptor and it also kills hookworms, whipworms and roundworms. |
