| Need More Advice - POOP EATERS OK, I need some more suggestions on the poop eating. Roxy is 11.5 months - Occasional Poop Eater TJ is 9.5 months - EVERY DAY POOP EATER (1++++ times) I can't stand it anymore. I can get to (aprox. 90% of the time) before they do when I am at home, but when I am gone all day they eat it all up! I have tried: Forbid (2x cycles of it) Deter ACCENT Pinnapples None work for them. Does anyone have any other suggestions???? |

| I really dont know what to tell you cause both my dogs outgrew doing this. I would probably try what you have already tried again and see if it works. Good luck I dont know if there is anything that anyone can tell you to do if they dont work.

| Thanks...that's what I am doing now. I tried the forbid again - nothing. I am trying the ACCENT now - so far not so good. I guess I will try the Deter again next and see. Although, I was thinking maybe I could put something on the poop to stop them from eating it, I just don't know what would be safe? |

| I have heard of putting tabasco sauce on the poop to get them not to eat it.

| Oh yeah, maybe I could lightly spread some tabasco sauce on the poop tonight and see them turn away in disgust - maybe! I can't believe I am having this discussion about how to spice up poop... |

| OH NO, this is a VERY COMMON issue with dogs. Forbid - You can get from your Vet and you mix some of the powder in with their food everyday, it is suppose to make the poop taste really bad to them. Deter - You can buy at the pet store, it is a pill that you feed them and it is suppose to make their poop taste really bad to them. ACCENT - You can buy at the food store (it is the main ingredient of meat tenderizer, but ACCENT is pure). This too you sprinkle some in their food and it is suppose to make their poop taste really bad to them. Pinnapples - You mix in some chopped up pinneapples with their food and it is suppose to make their poop taste really bad to them. These things work for some dogs, but not all - like mine! | For me it is a daily occurance with TJ. When I am at home I have a good chance of getting it before he does, but he is also smart, and he knows to go certain places to poop when I am busy and not looking! I know he waits for the right moment to poop and eat it just when I am occupied with something else. When I do catch him, I now scrape it out of his mouth with my fingers (true love) then we go to the bathroom and I take a wet wash cloth and wipe his teeth and the roof of his mouth (I usually have to do this a couple of times to clean out the poop), then I brush his teeth. And then I wash my hands like crazy!!! This has to stop, or I need eye balls in the back of my head! |
