| Need info on supplements and homecooking I have been wanting to start doing my own homecooking for Rocco. At present he eats Merrick dry food and occassionaly he does like a bit of the Merrick puppy canned food. I have been reading lots of good info you all supply on the site about homecooking and I know that basically he should have protein, veggies, and fruits. However, I dont quite know what type of supplements he would need? I know you guys can point me in the right direction. Rocco is a yorkie/maltese mix. (father full bred yorkie/mom is 1/4 yorkie and 3/4 maltese). He is 7 months and about 5 1/2 lbs. Thanks. |

| I have been recommended a supplement called Balance IT for home cooking. Sugar and I both love it and I feel secure in the knowledge that she is getting all of the nutrients she needs in one fairly inexpensive supplement ! Also petdiets.com is a great place to start ( I hope I have the right address....)

| We had used Balance It for a very long time. It is a good product. You can get a recipe through balanceit.com that will be balanced. If you buy one from here, I would recommend choosing low fat. Petdiets.com is also fine. The owner is DVM, PhD, MS, DACVN. Very few people in the world come close or meet that for veterinary nutrition.
