| pups You will have to hold mom down and allow the pups to nurse or hand feed them..encourage her by petting and talking to her while the nurse. Then "diaper" them..meaning, wipe their gentiles with warm cloth so they can pee and poop. Last edited by YorkieRose; 11-10-2005 at 05:39 AM. |

| I have to agree with Pat on this one encourge her to clean the pups bottoms, you can place a little nutri-cal on their bottoms to encourge her to clean them. if she won't then you are going to have to stimulate them yourself. And have you wormed your puppies yet? This should be done at about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks of age. It is only a very small dot in their mouths. Good luck and keep us posted....

| Did she feed them and clean them the first 2 weeks? If she just "stopped" then she isn't getting enough encouragement and the pups may be getting all of the attention which may make her dislike them. Put them near/on her and tell her what a good girl she is. |

| You do need to stimulate the pups if they are bloated. A cotton ball is what is preferred. At this point in time the mother does need some time away from the pups. However, if she is not interested anymore, don't give her so much time away from them or make it too enjoyable for her. Give her all the positive attention when she is with the pups. Get the milk going yourself and attach the puppies telling the mamma what a good girl she is the entire time in a nice soothing voice. Do not get angry with her no matter how frustrating it gets. If she did it the first 2 weeks she should do it again. |
