Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I have your advice.... Izzy and I have a consult on Wed. with a new Vet about having her spayed... We are planning on 2 weeks from now for the spay... This vet came recommend by alot of people I know. I'm really happy about her because they let the dogs come home in the afternoon on the same day this way I can keep her quite in her own home in her playpen AND keep a close eye on her... When I go I don't want to for get any question that may be important, so I was hoping that I could get a list of good quiestion to ask. What do you think are the most important Questions.. I know I already want pre-blood work done on her.. Thank in Advanced

| I would ask the vet what drug she uses for anesthesia. Isoflurane and sevoflurane are safest in toy breeds. You can also review the anesthesia sticky in this library. That's great that you can take her home. We always took ours home after they were altered and they are just very pooped after anesthesia. So she will be very sleepy. You might want to contact Mom to Hot Rod about getting one of her Kiss E collars in case you need it for Izzy. She makes great soft collars that are very nice. Good luck with the consult, I'm sure it will go fine!

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-protocol.html Pre-op bloodwork is a must! I would also ask about getting dental done while your pup is already under and after care pain management (e.g. pain meds). I would make sure your pup is getting an IV as well. Ask about microchipping too while your pup is under. Hmmm... I can't think of anything else right this second, but I thought I'd give you a start! Hopefully others will chime in if I forgot anything!

Also, you may want to leave a blanket and a fav cuddley toy with your baby when you drop off. It will help calm the poor dear and be cozy afterward! A reminder of mommy/home is always good!!!
