| giving raw carrot as a treat? I came home today , and had a bag of fresh carrots . Suzi our yorkie and Miely really sniffed at the carrots and one of them tried to bite a piece off. SO I offered them a small piece of carrot. one of them loved it, the other just chewed on it and spit it out. Is it ok for them to have a small piece of carrot once in a while?

| Either is fine (cooked or raw). Raw do present a small choking hazard if they don't chew very well. Cooking vegetables improves digestibility for you pups.

| Mine eat the baby carrots too. After Beamer has been groomed he dashes to the fridge and as soon as I open it he scratches at the vegetable drawer like he is anxious to get it open - he wants his carrot I only need to mention carrot and he will go to the fridge! I did ask the vet if it was OK for the Yorkies to have the raw baby carrots and she said it was fine.

| Mine like carrots too. I buy the crinkle cut frozen ones so I always have them on hand. I also give fresh (or frozen) carrots, celery, green beans, broccoli, red bell peppers, or zucchini and they like all of the above.

| Ours love their baby carrots. They can't wait for daddy to fix his lunch for the next day to get some. DH cuts really small pieces for Tina (old) and Dudley, who I think has the smallest mouth in the world. Lexi eats hers whole and I think he cuts Kayla's up too. |

| Levi loves raw carrots (I chop baby carrots into smaller pieces). He loves every raw fruit and veggie I have let him try, but carrots are definitely among his favorites. |

| My Yorkies love the baby carrots as well. I give one whole baby carrot about once a week. These also help clean their teeth from the scrubbing when they chew it up! I've never had any trouble with loose stools or anyone choking although they are always supervised with any treats. Teresa |
