| Deciding when to take them to the vet Am I the only one who doesn't like trying to figure this out?? There are so many times when it's obvious what to do. And when in doubt, go in... But ugh, it would be easier if they could talk!

| YES! Less to be worried about if they could just say where it hurts, or if it hurts. I don't like this guessing game.

| It definitely is tough to tell when to take them to a vet. Over the Christmas holidays, Jamie's eye was irritated and had a discharge. Since the vet was closed, I planned to give it another day or two. Was much better the next day after OTC drops. It is perfect now. If the vet had not been closed, I probably would have gone. |

| I never wait things out. I would rather let a professional examine the dog than to make the wrong call. If it is something minor like the other light when Daisy bit Barney giving him a bloody nose, I just see how they are and won't rush to the vet. But if someone has pain or won't eat, we go to the ER immediately. Mine do *talk* in very clear body language and I know when something is not right. I would rather be overly cautious then live with regret and sadness.

| It can get really frustrating b/c things aren't always obvious here. She has a sick or tired look today and continued to have symptoms last night, so we will be going in. When she pees two or three extra times in a day, it can be difficult to decide. Her UTIs can have intermittent symptoms where it's hard to tell. If she did it for two days in a row, it would be easy to just go in. Just one day though and it stops, well, hard to say... Can't really take her in for peeing a couple extra times though. I'm pretty confident watching her at home to avoid the ER when it comes to GI issues. With pain, never really had a problem thankfully.
