| no appetite in morning?? Hello Guys!! I was wondering if some of your babies have no appetite in the morning, sometimes like this morning I had to hand feed Peanut, He isn’t sick or anything just not hungry. I feed him in the morning, and then again around 5pm. Its very odd because you would think he would be hungry knowing the last time he ate was at 5pm the night before.. Sometimes in the morning he is VERY LAZY, and wont even crawl out of his bed… I don’t know what it is lol. He does this every once in a while, and I will have to hand feed him. He gets locked in his pack n play all day till I get home from work so I hate to leave him knowing he didn’t eat his breakfast.. I feed him yummy stuff too, he gets some Acana dry food, little boiled chicken pieces mixed in, tiny bit of wet food, and a splash of cottage cheese. So I know its not the “food”.. He eats good at Dinner time.. Is anyone else’s baby crazy like Pnut? You know what I just thought of, I was just on vacation and he ate his breakfast every morning, now I am back at work. Maybe he has some separation issues??

| Jackson never eats breakfast and I don't force him. He's just rarely hungry in the mornings. If I happen to be home around 11am-noon, I will sometimes feed him then, and then again at dinner-time. But between 7-9am, he just has no interest in eating. I feed him pre-made raw a few times a week and he will eat that in the mornings (but still no earlier than 9am) so he does get a breakfast those mornings. Otherwise, he just gets 1/2 cup of kibble mixed with a bit of wet food for dinner around 6pm and that's his only meal for the day with treats throughout the day. I do leave dry kibble out for him in a bowl all day but he doesn't usually touch it. He does fine with the one meal a day and always has. My dads dogs are also fed like this.

| Sometimes Sammy doesn't eat his dry food (breakfast). Then a few hours later he will eat it. I guess they are like us, sometimes you are more hungry than other times. |

YT Addict | When we first got Teddi he was great in the morning with food. Since he has learned our schedule (which is weird because we are musicians) his habits have changed. He eats most at his last meal of the day which is about 10:30pm. When we wake in the am about 9 he will get a walk, eat a bit, nap & play. Not super hungry in the am. I have to say that I love the fact that yorkies only really eat when they are hungry! During 14 years of having baby Gizmo he was never a porky yorkie and he was absolutely never hungry! They really are good about eating when hungry!!

YT Addict | Since Teddi is still being trained it's treats throughout the day although sometimes I will use his dry food (puppy wellness) as the treat that way it's not all treats all the time!

Yep, Jackson get 1/2 cup of Orijen or Acana kibble mixed with about a little less than a tablespoon of wet food, or I mix in chicken or steak or whatever leftover meat we have in the fridge. But like I said, he's got food in his bowl all day long that he has access to whenever he wants. He's 15lbs and very active, btw.

| Sometimes Buster will not eat his breakfast. I will leave it out and when I get home from work it is still there. But if I sit down with him when I get home he eats it right away. I guess he does not always like to dine alone. I must say he does have to go on a diet. I think I gave him to many training treats or they were too big. He weighs eight pounds now and my vet says he should be around six. It is hard trying to cut back on the treats he gets very upset with me and boy does he let me know it! Quite the talker. |

| Jamie will only eat breakfast after she goes to the park, plays with her friends and does her power walk. When she comes home, she is very hungry. |

Teddi does the exact same thing. My hubby gets really upset with me because he wants him to eat on his own. We actually hand fed Gizmo from the time he was 6 yrs. after almost losing hm to pancreatitis. It was wonderfully bonding but when he had a sitter he would not eat for them and one would not feed him that way so I can see Dave's point. Personally I think they take it from us because they want to make us happy. When I stop giving he stops eating it. He's just not hungry at that moment. I pick it up, he looks for it and then 2 seconds later he forgets all about it! By lunch time he eats really well - dinner so-so and then supper - he pigs out!! Our vet advised 1/4 cp 3times per day. So...we break that up into the four feeding times we do per day instead of three. As another YT'er said on another thread - they will not overeat - and that has been my experience as well! They will walk away. ♥

| Uni used to be so hard to feed breakfast. Sometimes she would not eat until late afternoon or evening either. No treats either. I thought she would get too many treats and not eat her kibble even more. I guess she just wasn't hungry, how she wasn't I could never understand. If it were me, I'd be starving! Since she's been spayed she eats like a champ! But to answer your question, somedays, yes she will not eat breakfast and wasn't sick, just being super picky. I just think it's more of a concern since pnut is so small. He needs to have something to eat.

| Sometimes they are waiting to see if theres a chance for a treat. I really think they should eat. I have 4 little ones right now do to taking in a few that families were unable to keep. If they dont eat they could get low blood sugar, lose appetite & get sick/foamy acid vomit. Zoey will vomit from hungar just if the bowl runs out over night . Then I have to get her a treat, if she refuses it, I find a bite of something to get her blood sugar & appetite up. You can rub the treat on the food & trick them. & sometimes they are just spoiled rotten & want to be hand fed by mommy, lol. |
