| I don't have any expert advice, but if it were me and I was worried he wasn't eating I would take him to the vet. Maybe if that isn't an option try keeping his sugar up with Nutrical? Hypoglycemia in the little ones can make them go downhill fast. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will see this and help out! Is he drinking liquids okay? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Is he drinking water okay today? Did he perhaps over eat yesterday or get into something he shouldn't have that might cause an upset tummy? You could try a small amount of boiled chicken to see if he will eat something. With one so young I would try to get to a vet if you can not get him to eat or drink.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I feel when they are that young and tiny you have to get them to eat. If that means canned then I would do it. When I got my Cali she was 9 weeks old and 1 lb. She wouldn't eat and had hypoglycemic episodes. I finally got her to eat canned Cesars. Even though it is a crap food I needed her to eat. As she got older and bigger I switched her to a premium dog food. Wellness should be fine to mix her kibble with. I hope Ritz's starts eating better soon.

| I think it is good that he ate and I don't think canned food will hurt him. I would try tempting him with the boiled chicken like Jen suggested though. It is good that he is drinking fine. You need to watch him carefully though if he isn't eating because the hypoglycemia/low blood sugar is dangerous! You care about him so much and I feel like I've been in it with you since the beginning! You really are a loving parent. <3 I just wanted to make sure you got some advice so I PMed Jen because she is more experienced than me. I hope Ritz is okay! I would definitely take him to the vet if he doesn't get back to normal, or if he takes a turn for the worse tonight rush him to the emergency vet. |

| If he just ate a full meal including the canned food; I would probably not give him any chicken right away. Is he keeping the meal down?

| Maybe I missed it, but what kind of dry food? 5 pieces could be a lot for one that is only 8 weeks old. Their stomachs aren't very big. I was reminded recently that for Acana Pacifica food (size) 10 kibbles for an adult Yorkie is more than enough (for a meal), anything beyond that is just adding fat and calories. Which makes sense when you think about. I also think somedays they eat more, sometimes less.

| Some Yorkies are just really picky- if he is eating canned food I wouldn't be too concerned. I also brought home one of mine too young and I let her eat basically only canned food- I left kibble out if she wanted a snack but her meals were canned only. As she got older she started eating more kibble and now eats basically all kibble.
