Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | What is your baby's favorite flavor... I was just wondering what flavor your yorkies like the best out of the Primal or Nature's Variety Raw. Izzy really likes the Primal Beef but NOT the Chicken...And if it's NV then she likes the chicken and beef I tired the Primal Turkey and sardine and it's the only one that stinks to me But she ate it so I guess that's all that matters..lol

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I usually give duck and they love it! Wylie and Pfeiffer would eat any flavor. For Marcel, I think the only thing he doesn't like is rabbit (which I tried when he was little, and having post-giardia issues; he hates rabbit). At any rate, I felt sorta weird feeding rabbit....

| Snick loves his Primal Lamb right now, the bloodier the better-sometimes Primal's lamb can be a little dry, sometimes wet.. He got sick of Chicken and Lamb (the little stinker!!.) We used to feed NV and he turned his nose up to all the flavors. Much money wasted, but I like Primal better. I want to get the Venison but GOODNESS it's expensive! So he gets Venison treats. Happy New Year- Snick & Viv

| I "think" mine like beef the best, but it could be that I like the texture/moisture of beef...I did notice one of them (?) threw up a couple of times, on chicken, so I don't get that one, anymore...I figure the duck is close enough...Viv, I tried the venison, once, and someone in the pack threw up on that one, too...AND, like you said, man, it's expensive...So, pretty much, we rotate duck, lamb & beef...They all love primal raw sooooo much!!! I don't feed NV, anymore, because it seems the ingredients in primal are a little better.... |

| I got Primal Duck for Jackson and he doesn't really like the duck.... he won't eat it anymore. We went thru about half the bag before he turned his nose up at it. He REALLY likes Stella & Chewy's a lot more so that's what our next bag is going to be. I'll try a different flavor of Primal too. But he liked the lamb on the S&C. You're right, venison is sooo expensive! I buy him venison treats now (Canz Real Meat treats) because he loves it so much.

| That is very odd, I've read that a few times it seems about the S&C. Jackson didn't have a weight problem when he was on the bag of S&C's, but I'm also not feeding it full-time (I only do about 3-4x per week for breakfast, dinner meals are Orijen/Acana kibble and wet food still). So that could be why I did not notice anything....

| I bought the starter pack when I was first trying out Primal with Sasha since I wasn't sure that she was going to like it. It included beef, chicken, duck & lamb and she happened to love all of them. Next time I went to the store that sells it, I bought a bag of chicken and a bag of beef which she's still finishing up but I haven't had any issues with her not liking it. She seems to really enjoy both. The store I buy it from seems to only have limited freezer space so they don't have all the varities that are offered in nugget form, but I'm pretty sure they had duck and lamb so I plan on getting those two next. I tried NV with Sasha a few years ago. She liked it at first at then one day decided to not eat it anymore. I wasted quite a large bag of it, but I couldn't really do anything if she didn't want it. |

| My younger dogs are eating the Primal beef, which I can't feed to my IBD dog. I've tried rabbit, duck and quail for her and she loves it. My cardiac dog quit eating the beef, but she loves the quail too. But it's pricey and I asked my store if they could get the duck patties. I'm feeding seven dogs, so it adds up and I'd prefer feeding the duck over the quail. My dogs quit the NV too, and I noticed they seemed to gain on the same amount of NV as Primal.

| Ivan and Iris have only been on Primal for a few months so we have only tried a few flavors. So far they've had Lamb, Venison, and Duck. They seemed to LOVE all three. @SweetApple- they did both lose a little weight when we first switched them to Primal. Not too much and they haven't continued to lose any. We kept a close eye on it thanks to your suggestion in a previous post. Thank you for that. I was wondering if any of you that feed Primal notice a change in the color of their poop on the different flavors. Just wondering if this is normal. It seems to match the color of the meat (duck was very light and venison was very dark). |
