| Drinking Water Have any of you had any problems with your Yorkies not drinking much water? I ask because my newest rescue I hardly ever see her drink water, but then again she could be and I just don't see her. I have 3 water bowls placed through out the house, so it is possible she is drinking and I'm just not seeing her. I did ask her Foster Mom about it and she had said when she was with her she would see her drinking water when no body was looking. She is going potty just fine and I know her canned food has moisture content and I do add water to her kibble to soften it as she only has 6 teeth. I guess maybe I just worry to much?

| I know my two don't drink a ton of water because they are raw feed which contains water. I do notice on the few days that I have to give kibble because we are traveling or what ever reason, they do drink more water. Maybe she is getting enough through the canned and the watered down kibble? |

| i usually put some dog kibble into the water and they will drink a lot water because they try to get the kibble out. It really works and keep in mind your puppy will pee a lot that day. |

| You could check to see if she's dehydrated... if her gums are sticky to the touch and if you gently pinch the skin on her shoulders and it stays up for a second or two after you let go, then she is not getting enough water.

| No she is not dehydrated at all. I have checked on that issue. She isn't a puppy either, she is 5 yrs. old and 4 1/2 pounds. Thanks for the replys. I'll just keep a close eye on her.

| My dogs drink more or less water depending on the food they eat. To encourage water intake, keep the water really fresh. I have read here that many people's Yorkies are really picky about fresh water, and some people have had great success with a pet fountain. |

| I always have fresh water, the bowls are changed at least 4 times a day, and I only use Spring Water (Bottled) for them. I did however see Willow drinking today, she was drinking out of the bowl I have placed in the bathroom, when she saw me, she stopped, so at least I know now she is drinking.

| My three don't drink much water, at all, but they are on pre-made raw, so get moisture there...However, Apple, always drinks water, when I put the fresh bowl down in the morning...I have two water bowls out, and they get clean bowls/water each morning...I use filtered water, from the fridge, so I put the cold water, in the clean bowls at night, and let them sit out, 'till morning, so they're not cold Are we Yorkie owners nuts or what lol... |

| My newly adopted Max drinks a lot of water. I constantly change it and he always drinks. I feed him Wellness small breed kibbles and a canned food 1-2x week. |
