YT Addict | Bile Acid Testing I just found this on the YTCA Foundaton website. Does this mean the the bile acid tests have false positives/negatives? What is the indication here? If anyone has any additional info I would really appreciate it! * In virtually all porto-systemic shunts there will be a significant rise in the bile acid levels over normal. The use of bile acids in screening clinically normal dogs for liver shunts is not currently being advised due to the variation of normal bile acid levels in Yorkshire Terriers, and other breeds as well. | I think you posted this already in BT but you may want to ask the moderator to move it to the health or illness forum for more of a response. I believe the answer received was that Dr. Center of Cornell who developed the protocol is the authority on the issue of bile acids testing and that her protocol should be the one that is followed. The YTCA health foundation put out its own statement and while good for general information should not be relied upon when clear authority from the veterinarian who developed the test says otherwise. I'm sure the YTCA foundation will revisit their statement and revise it in accordance with Dr. Center's protocol upon review.

YT Addict | Thank you Yes thank you...there seems to be more response in the Breeder Talk area including the mention of Dr. Center. I am keeping a close eye on the responses since Teddi is going in soon for an appt. I will ask admin to remove this post. Thanks again!
