| vomiting/diarrhea...vet says it's kennel cough?? Milo has been having diarrhea on/off for about a week and started vomiting clear stuff last night. I'm out of town and my boyfriend's mom was the only one who was able to take him to the vet. Our usual vet is an hour away so she took him to a reputable vet (according to 33 yelp reviews) nearby...We took our other dog Kona there a couple times and they were okay I guess. Anyway, the vet leaves a message on the boyfriend's cell and says it's kennel cough... Now, I'm really confused because we've dealt with kennel cough before with Kona and she never had vomiting or diarrhea...I understand different dogs may have different symptoms, but what I really don't understand is that MILO HAS NO COUGH. so how is this kennel COUGH? Also, I don't know if it's related, but he also peed on the human bed a couple nights ago, which is unusual for him because he's potty trained. While we were changing the bed sheets, he peed again on the floor on the opposite side of the room of the pee pad. His pee was clear...which makes sense because I did notice he drank a lot of water before. But it seemed almost like he couldn't control his pee or something...I read that frequent urination is a symptom of chocolate poisoning so I was worried that he may have found some chocolate somewhere...but this was before the vomiting so I was probably over thinking it since there's no reason to believe he ate any chocolate. I haven't had a chance to talk to the vet yet, but I'll be giving her a call tomorrow...I'd appreciate your input. I should add that he's also active and eating normally.

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | I would agree with you that this doesn't sound like kennel cough. It could be a whole host of things.... Did they do a fecal exam?? That could help rule out parasites, worms, etc... There are several things they can check for on a fecal exam that aren't just the routine stuff. They would need to look at it under a microscope for several of the things (I'm sorry, I canNOT remember exactly what??!!! Grr!!!) That would be a good place to start. Sorry I can't be of more help! Good luck with your baby! I know it must be so hard for you, especially since you aren't there Keep us updated!

| What kind of food is your dog eating? My yorkie had similar symptoms for the past week...vomiting mainly. He eats Iams, but he wasn't eating the type that had been recalled, but I decided to test it out anyway. I stopped feeding him the Iams and he has been MUCH BETTER! |
