| Always Licking On Me My baby is a real licker. She licks my hand when I am holding her and when anyone is holding her she will lick their face like crazy. Is that just because she is friendly, which she is, or is she lacking something in her diet. (Salt??) This is my first baby and I always have alot of questions. I love her so much but wondered about this.

Vinnie loves to give kisses!! But sometimes it's just too much. When we're lying in bed he will come and lick my face until i have to move him. Most of the time I'll let him for about five minutes or so but when you're trying to sleep and hard to leave him. we try to show him as much love when we're here because he usually spends the days alone. i can't wait until we can get him a companion.

I believe they're just really friendly and love a lot. Autumn, my puppy, is a licker too... I wake up a lot to her licking my face or hand or anything...even clothing, lol. She's crazy.

I was watching "the dog whisperer" and this couple had an adorable little maltese that did the same thing, and he said that it was basically like left over energy or something and that they needed to bring him for a lot of nice long walks. It seemed to work. I hope this helps, but i think the licking is cute.

Roxy is a licker too....in preperation for her spaying I had our vet go ahead and do a CBC, complete blood work up on her. Intrestingly, her levels came back borderline for Addison's Disease. Today we are doing a tighter blood tests that she had to fast for (overnight) and they will draw blood and test 3 times. One of the symptoms they say is licking...for salt. Today I have been doing some research but would like to know if anyone has had any experience. I understand it is treatable with medication but for life and it would be non life threatening.
