| Retained baby teeth are a common problem with yorkies. Your girl could still lose some of them on her own, but any that are retained should be pulled. I plan to have my baby's pulled at the same time as her spay so she only has to "go under" once.

| Actually spaying BEFORE their first heat will reduce their chances for mammary cancer. I've waited as long as possible, but still want to spay Lulu before her first heat. She is 7 months old now & I will be scheduling her spay asap.

| No you do not have to wait to have her spayed. I usually recommend between 7 and 8months, closer to 7 months if they are a fairly good size bit older if they are smaller. Watch the teeth though as sometimes I have had them spayed closer to 7 months or between 6 and 7 months if those teeth are crowding and throwing off the bite because of the retained ones. The baby teeth are removed at the time of spay. |

| If you spay her before her first heat you will eliminate her chance of every getting mammary cancer. I'm glad you are going to schedule it. |
