| Cost of Neuter & Microchip iin Washington, DC Wanted to let everyone know what the cost of Riley's neuter in DC was. I love this vet and they are about 5-blocks from my place....but I think it is a little on the high side... Maybe I'm wrong. $300.00 = Neuter/25lbs and less, including pre-op blood work $ 17.99 = Rimadyl Injectable $ 13.79 = Rimadyl 25 mg (3 pills) Vet said to give 1/4 morning & night $ 65.00 = Microchip & Registration [OUCH!!] $ 12.25 = E-Collar [Haven't had to use just yet.] $409.03 = TOTAL |

| The cost seems reasonable to me, especially considering you are in the city. I paid almost as much 50 miles south in Virginia. Glad you like your vet and Riley's operation went well. |

| OMG that is high to me. I guess here in Florida its cheaper...150.00 plus blood work which is 35.00, so 185.00. and thats the cost of a spay. The microchip and reg is about the same 45.00 for the chip and 20.00 for the Reg.

| I paid about $350 for neuter, pain meds, hearworm test, pre-op blood work, flea meds, minus the collar. We used a onesie. Just remember that prices vary from place.

| That's a bit steep, I had my little girl, spayed with pre op bloodwork, micro chipped with registration, baby teeth extracted and all necessary meds for $262 on Friday. And I got this done in MD. |

| I live in northern VA near DC and that's about what it costs here too. I asked our vet to give me an estimate on what it would cost to neuter our yorkie (he'll be home with us in 2 weeks). They said it would range from $358 to $443. Yikes! |

| That's high for us here in Canada. With the bloodwork we're looking at about $250 for a neuter. |

| It was almost that much for my guy w/o counting a microchip. I did a couple extra things done though cuz he is so little like fluids under the skin and a couple of puppy teeth removed.

| I had my two girls spayed back this spring. We had pre-op blood work, spay, microchip/register, pain medication for 5 days, and spay tatoos for $650. I love their vet and office staff and would have paid more to have them in such good care. |

| The Margaret B. Mitchell Spay and Neuter Clinic is located in Bristol Va. After checking around at the local vets my sister recommended this clinic to me, and their listed prices were much, much lower since they are a non-profit. They are located a little over an hour away from me, and I had to drop Buddy off one morning then pick him up the next day. I had reverse sticker shock when I paid for neutering and chipping- $60!!!! For anyone in the area they are an incredible deal. |

| We had Harley done recently. With blood work and neuter it was $112. We didn't microchip since he stays upstairs and doesn't go out. I don't live in a big town so maybe that's why it's a little cheaper here. |

| I Love reading all the different pricing. I could have taken him out of the city and maybe paid a little less.... but I sold my car a few years back. I do ZipCar anytime I need transportation out of the city.... so I would have had to add that expense. Plus I really do Love his vet. That spay/neuter place in Bristol, VA sounds good. I will pass that along to my parents, who live down in Fredericksburg, VA. They need to get their miniature poodle spayed. Thanks!! Also, the Onsie is a Great idea. I may run to Target tomorrow and pick one up. I ran out today for a couple of hours....so I put his e-collar on him and put him into his x-pen. Thanks, All, For The Replies!! |
