| Need opinions/help/advice! After researching and reading TONS of stuff about the Iams-Eukenuba testing I have decided to NOT support this anymore! It has literally made me sick to my stomach to just think about it and I can't stand to even look at the bags now! Sooo... since Daphne (my pom) has been on this her whole life, but is more tougher on trying other foods and it doesnt seem to bother her, and Taylah is still young and adjusting to this anyway from her other food she was on (I wanted both on the same brand food), I am tossing it out and getting them on a BETTER brand that doesn't do this! Sooo.. any thoughts on what is better? Is there a site I can go to that would show me maybe ranks and nutrition info? Im sure this is asked in toher threads, and I may have asked in the past, but Im really serious about doing this and plan to try to get whatever I can and decide to get this weekend! So any input, advice, comments on ANY brands would be greatly appreciated!

| I feed both of my dogs Nutro products, even their treats are Nutro, with the exception of the Natural Balance roll I give them as treats now and then. Natural Balance is also good food. Mine just prefer the Nutro, my yorkie likes the Ultra and my Lab likes the Natural. They have a ton of varietis to choose from and they don't do any of those terrible things that many other companies do. And they also don't put the things in the food that a lot of the other companies do, such as rancid grain and uthinized animals . You can go to there web site and chech them out. I am pretty sure it is www.nutro.com. |

| Every year in February the Whole Dog Journal puts out it's list of the best dog foods. They are not ranked, because there is not one best food because all dogs are different. They either make the list or don't. The WDJ is like the consumer reports for dogs - they do not take any ads, etc. I consider that list to be the best, most unbiased list of good dog foods. But, you can figure out a good food just based on the ingredients! Chicken and Chicken Meal, Lamb and Lamb meal are best. Chicken by-products or meat/animal by products are the worst. Preservatives are bad. Corn is bad. Here's a good explation of ingredients: http://www.sniksnak.com/ac/petfooddefinitions.html It's hard to find the WDJ list because you have to pay for either a subscription to their magazine or the website. Just like Consumer Reports. http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/ Some of the easier to find brands on the list are: Canidae Innova California Natural Chicken Soup Wellness Natural Balance (only the Ultra Premium formula) Every dog is different, but we tried Innova and Loki didn't like it. Natural Balance was good for his sensitive digestive system and he was on that for a long time. I just switched him to Canidae and we're happy with it. I hope this helps!
