| Choking sounds Scooter sometimes, not always, makes this choking, gagging sound. It's like he has something caught in his throat but it only lasts a few seconds and then he's ok. I hesitate to take him to the vet because she already thinks I'm waaaaay over protective of him. Any one else had this happen?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Both my girls make a honking, choking sound (Greta worse than Bridget) - I've video taped it and dropped it off at my vet because they never do it in his office. He told me that it was reverse sneeze. He also gave Greta something for nasal mites because she does it so much longer and harder than Bridget - and I think because I'm such a lunitic...lol.

| If your vet feels that way, then I think you need to seek another vet. That is not a good attitude for a vet to have. You have your yorkie's best interest at heart and that is first and foremost. It could be a trachea problem or even just an allergy. Only a vet could help. I hope your lil one will be ok. Let us know if you can find out what the problem is.

| Honking sound describes it perfectly. I am, however, going to look for a new vet. She is nice but she gets this look on her face when I come in with what I think is a legit concern. I adore Scooter and want only the very best for him. He's my tiny baby.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't blame you - I think when I got Bridget my vet put an order in for a new boat - then once I got Greta, he changed it to a bigger boat!!!! I'm going to have my own parking place in the lot pretty soon!

| i dont know if its what u r experienceing but i did watch an animal planet show that featured yorkies and they said that they sometimes "honk" like a goose. Its harmless and actually is a "backwards sneeze" mine has done it and its actually funny. its almost like a person w a bad cold snorting their nose. But he might have an issue. i dont know about the trachea issues other than yorkies get them. <ine also coughs and hacks alot but i think its just him inhaling dust or fuzz from his toys. Hope its nothing serious. |
