When to switch to Adult Food? Do you recommend switching to Adult Food? Taycie is 7 months old and I planned to switch when she turned a year. Currently we are on Thrive from the Honest Kitchen. I have gone back and forth with Foods and tried alot! After a few samples of The Honest Kitchen we are sold! She loves it! I am really impressed with this company and I really starting to lean towards Home Cooking for her and this is a great way to start. So when would you switch? This food is also high in fat at 20 percent so I am thinking I should try another formula or is this a safe amount since she still is a puppy? |
I switched my basset houns at about a year. They started with Health Extension and now they eat Pedigree. My Yorkie 6 months old and Shorkie 11 months old are on Health Extension and they love it. They can eat that through adulthood so I don't have to change |
Does HK have puppy and adult formulas? I think they're for all life stages. 20-percent protein is on the higher end but I wouldn't concern if you're not having problems. |
We switched Sophie to Wellness Adult-small dog kibble when she turned one. |
The puppy food Poppy is on is age 0 months to 1 year, so I will be switching her at 1 year. |
I switched to adult food when Sasha turned a year old. I don't think it would hurt if you wanted to switch earlier as I've heard people have done it before. I'd say as long as it seems like they're done majorly growing then it shouldn't be an issue. |
