Eucalyptus a natural flea repellant?? Did I spell eucalyptus right??? Anyway, I am hunting for 2 shade trees and talking to several folks. I had Maddie with me when talking to one "tree guy" today and he told me this. I will be doing quite a bit of research before making a decision but if this is true and MOST IMPORTANT....SAFE!!!, I may seriously consider it. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks everyone!:p Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
and from searching on here I see folks talking about spraying it around the house. The tree guy (I wish I knew a more official title but...) also said it was the scent of the tree. He said having it in the yard would keep them out of your yard and away from your house. He didn't have one but said he could get it in if that is something I wanted to do. Based on what I have found on here, he may really be telling me the truth. Now I think I just want to make double quaddroupally sure that if one of them got to a leaf and decided to chew that it is abolutely safe for my babies!!! I am trying to think of what eucalyptus smells like and I honestly can't for the life of me remember but I am not thinking it is a nasty odor. Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
I would be hesitant to say yes or no on eucalyptus as I've not researched it. It might just work as a flea repellent with the strong scent fresh eucalyptus can have. I did have a doctor tell me once, eucalyptus oil is highly allergenic though, so you might want to check into that. I got hives for the first time ever, had a cold and had been eating those Hall's Menthol cough drops and at that time they contained eucalyptus oil. The doctor before he knew I had been eating them, mentioned the only time he had hives was after using Hall's cough drops. IDK for certain that the cough drops were the cause of my hives, but I've never had one since then, and never had hives again |
