| Primal Raw I've been researching Primal Raw and I'm thinking about possibly starting this with Sasha in a few weeks or at least giving it to her in the morning and keeping her on kibble in the evening. I went to the website and looked at the feeding calculator which said she should be getting 1.6 nuggets at each meal. Would giving her 1 nugget in the morning be too little? The only reason I want to give it in the morning to start is because the last time I tried raw with Sasha (Nature's Variety) she refused to eat it after a few weeks. I like what I've been reading about Primal and I like the benefits of feeding a raw diet so I really want to try again. Any advice and opinions would be appreciated. |

| I think that would be fine. I love the raw diet and would like to feed raw in the morning and kibble otherwise, but I mine didn't like the raw. She wouldn't touch the NV and when I tried Primal she ate it but with no enthusiasm whatsoever...so I went back to all kibble. My baby is 5.5# and I fed her one (primal) nugget AM and left kibble available for PM. I probably would've given her 2 nuggets each AM if she liked it. I hope it works out great for you! | Keoki LOVES Primal and hated NV- all he eats is primal. If it says 1.6 at each meal I would give her 1 and a half and once she gets used to it take her completely off of the kibble. Keoki loves the variety of Primal- when he gets sick of one flavor I switch to another- good luck! Keep us posted |

| Thanks for the responses! I'm still looking into it more before I make my final decision with it. Plus, the nearest store closest to me is about 10 miles from my house which isn't a huge issue but it's in an area I'm not familiar with. Does anyone know if they have a starter kit? |

| Is 1.6 patties for the whole day, or just one meal? I've found that Primal seems to keep my pups a little leaner, than say, feeding NV or Stella & Chewies...They all blew up like balloons on S&C's! The directions (on Primal) say 2 nuggets, per day, for Apple, but she was getting too thin on 2, so I'm giving her 2 1/2 a day, along w/a few treats...For Buzz, it said 2 1/2, but I give him 3...I'm even thinking of uping Buzz' 'cause he seems really lean, and winter is coming on... |

| I believe it said 1.6 for each meal - so 3.2 for the day, but to start out, I want to just give her raw in the morning and her kibble in the evening. I want to see if she'll consistently eat it before I completely switch her over (if I decide to). Should I maybe do 1 1/2 in the morning instead of 1? Are you able to cut it in half while it's frozen like that? I wouldn't want to thaw too much out at one time. |

| I'm gonna try Primal next bag I try! I had started feeding Jackson one patty of frozen raw Stella & Chewy's but they've been gone for about 2 weeks and I never went out to buy more. Jackson LOVED it and it was the only way to get him to eat breakfast.

| When we feed Primal each of mine (8 and 11lbs) get 4 medallions a day - 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I usually defrost 2 meals worth (so 8 medallions) at a time. They stay good in the fridge for 2-3 days. Sometimes when we prey-model I defrost about a week at a time.

| Good to know! I wasn't sure if they would be ok in the fridge for longer than a day. I'm very excited to see if she'll like it! I really hope she does! |
