Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Ear drops make Poppy look dirty! Okay so Poppy and Jess (my cross breed) are being treated for ear mites. The drops the vet has given us are thick and gloopy. I am careful to get the drops in their ears and not on the fur around it, and I make sure I massage the ear afterwards to work the drops in. Jess isnt so bad because her fur is shorter but Poppy looks filthy! The drops for some reason make the fur on her face and around her ears look so greasy. And I dont understand how because im really careful not to get the drops on her fur and I massage them in so she cant shake them out. I have tried washing her but it just dosnt help, I cant wait for the treatment to be over! Have you any suggestions? have you experienced this before?

Im so glad someone understands! I hate how it makes her fur look, when I take her out I worry that people think I am neglecting her and not washing her which is totally not the case. She had a bath yesterday and looked clean until she had her next set of drops then BOOM mucky pup is back. I cant wait for the treatment to be over, she will be having another bath ASAP.

| Yes, I know what you mean, too. It is just part of it. The oily looking fur isn't forever!

| We have to treat Ellie often, and it happens everytime. Not much you can do about it. It'll go away.
