Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Some useful info my Vet gave me.. I love my vet. Here is some info that he gave me, so I thought that I would share. Food Recommendation scale of 1-10 10=best/1=worse Home Prepared- meals should be 1/3 meats and 2/3 vegetables..whole food with glycemic index are best. Avoid by- products and artifical presevatives.

Frozen Raw- The are raw food 8. Dehydrated Foods- These are also concidered Raw foods.
Canned Foods- Avoids foods which contains flours or other cheap fillers. Look for whole foods. Organic foods may be safer in view of the recent recalls.
Holistic Kibble Foods- These foods usually contain added enzymes, probiotics and chelated minerals. They fo not contain by products or artificial preservatives. These foods are cooked at lower temps to preserve nutrients. Organic foods may be safer. We recommend grain free foods.
Premium Kibble- We do NOT recommend these as they contain by products artificial preservatives and are over- precessed. Foods in this category include Sci.diet, Iam's, Eukanuba, etc...
Non- prmium Kibble- This group includes Purina, Pedigree, Alpo, etc... NOT recommended.
Generic or Store brands- Old Roy and the No Name brands.
Semi-Moist Burgers- Gains burger and Tender Vittles are example.
Unbalanced table scrapes
